Here's everything you need to know (and maybe more than you want to know) about how this site works.
Our privacy settings make our site invisible to search engines and not listed as a blog people can find just by browsing through Blogger. Essentially, unless you have the link, you can't find this site. But technically it is not completely locked down as a private site because to make it visible to only people in our group (as opposed to only people with the link) requires that everyone in our group have a Google account, which is honestly probably overkill.
If you have a Google account, please feel free to accept the author invitation that went out initially and let me know if you want to publish posts and need help learning how.
If you don't have a Google account, no worries! You can still see the site and comment whenever you like. If you have something you want to share with the group, email it to me, and I'll post it for you. Or...email us like you always have.
I've set up a way to send out emails (just to our group) to notify us whenever something new is posted. If it works, you're reading this as an email right now! If you click through using the link on the title above you'll be able to see the post on the site AND add your comments at the end of the post.
You'll get another email after Sonya uploads photos. And if Karen posts recipes (or sends them to me to post...hint, hint), you'll get an email when those are published. I have it set so that you'll never get more than one email in a day (even if there are 10 new posts) and you'll only get an email when there's something new.
We can also use this as a way to do book club reminders IF everyone is comfortable with listing addresses WITHOUT names of hostesses OR first names of hostesses WITHOUT addresses.
(Again, this is out of an abundance of caution to avoid listing names and addresses together because there's a 99.9% chance that nobody but us will ever see this website.....but not 100%).
Please leave a comment to let us know whether you prefer names without addresses or addresses without names. Or if you think we should just stick with the old way of emailing the info out.
This will be a fun way for us to keep track of our group and chronicle our activities, and we can make it whatever we want it to be!
